Reflecting on The M Factor Film Screening in San Diego

Last week I had the privilege of attending The M Factor film screening in San Diego, hosted by Hot Pause Health. It was such a meaningful opportunity to share thoughts and connect with other incredible thought leaders in the menopause and women’s health space.

I left feeling proud and inspired about how my work in functional medicine is contributing to the collective. My mission has always been to empower and educate not just women in menopause, but women at every stage of life, along with their families. Health is not something that should wait until midlife. For example, building a strong foundation in my teenage clients gives them a lifelong head start on real health. This early investment pays off through the challenges of adulthood and into the often-neglected menopause years, helping us rise above both societal and medical shortcomings that too often leave women without answers.

What stood out most from this event was the balance of insight and open discussion. I deeply appreciated the perspectives of Megan Bendinelli, NP and Dr. Tanya Goodrich, PT, DPT, who each brought fresh energy and wisdom to the conversation. The film itself was powerful, sparking conversations that were raw, honest, and desperately needed in this space.

As a practitioner, I see daily how functional medicine can change lives by getting to the root of the problem rather than masking symptoms. Seeing a room full of passionate people all striving to create that same shift on a larger scale was incredibly affirming.

I am more motivated than ever to continue this work - supporting women through [peri]menopause, helping young adults build healthy foundations, and guiding families toward better long-term health. Together, we are rewriting the story of women’s health, one conversation at a time.
